is the true servant of his devotees.
The ancient lord, a form of joy, could not be found by the three gods
even though they searched for him.
No one except his devotees can know him, the bright light.

ଅଟ୍ଟ ମୂର୍ତ୍ତି, ଅଳ଼କନ଼୍, ଇନ଼୍ ଅମୁତୁ ଆଯ ଆନ଼ନ୍ତ ବେଳ୍ଳତ୍ତାନ଼୍,
ଚିଟ୍ଟନ଼୍, ମେଯ୍ଚ୍ ଚିବଲୋକ ନାଯକନ଼୍, ତେନ଼୍ ପେରୁନ୍ତୁର଼ୈଚ୍ ଚେବକନ଼୍,

ତେଙ୍କୁ ଚୋଲୈକଳ୍ ଚୂଳ଼୍ ପେରୁନ୍ତୁର଼ୈ ମେଯ ଚେବକନ଼୍, ନାଯକନ଼୍,
ମଙ୍କୈମାର୍ କୈଯିଲ୍ ବଳୈଯୁମ୍ କୋଣ୍ଟୁ, ଏମ୍ ଉଯିରୁମ୍ କୋଣ୍ଟୁ, ଏମ୍ ପଣି କୋଳ୍ବାନ଼୍

O girls! Look at him, our lord and chief,
the god of Thirupperundurai surrounded with coconut trees,
the servant of his devotees.
He stole the bangles of the girls and took their lives also.

ପତ୍ତର୍ ଚୂଳ଼, ପରା ପରନ଼୍ ପାରିଲ୍ ବନ୍ତୁ, ପାର୍ପ୍ପାନ଼୍ ଏନ଼,
ଚିତ୍ତର୍ ଚୂଳ଼, ଚିବପିରାନ଼୍, ତିଲ୍ଲୈ ମୂତୂର୍ ନଟମ୍ ଚେଯ୍ବାନ଼୍,
ଏତ୍ତନ଼୍ ଆକି ବନ୍ତୁ, ଇଲ୍ ପୁକୁନ୍ତୁ, ଏମୈ ଆଳୁଙ୍କୋଣ୍ଟୁ, ଏମ୍ ପଣି କୋଳ୍ବାନ଼୍

The highest lord, the dancer in Thillai,
came to the earth as a Brahmin surrounded by his devotees
and worshiped by the Siddhas.
Our playful lord entered my home, made me his and accepted my service.

ମାଯ ବାଳ଼୍କ୍କୈଯୈ, ମେଯ୍ ଏନ଼୍ର଼ୁ ଏଣ୍ଣି, ମତିତ୍ତିଟା ବକୈ ନଲ୍କିନ଼ାନ଼୍;
ବେଯ ତୋଳ୍ ଉମୈ ପଙ୍କନ଼୍, ଏଙ୍କଳ୍ ତିରୁପ୍ପେରୁନ୍ତୁର଼ୈ ମେବିନ଼ାନ଼୍;
କାଯତ୍ତୁଳ୍ ଅମୁତୁ ଊର଼ ଊର଼, ନୀ କଣ୍ଟୁକୋଳ୍' ଏନ଼୍ର଼ୁ କାଟ୍ଟିଯ
ଚେଯ ମା ମଲର୍ଚ୍ ଚେବଟିକ୍କଣ୍, ନମ୍ ଚେନ଼୍ନ଼ି ମନ଼୍ନ଼ି, ତିକଳ଼ୁମେ!

The lord, our father, entered my heart,
destroyed my bad karma, made me his,
and gave me devotion so I could join
his feet adorned with golden ornaments.
I pluck many flowers, sprinkle them on him and worship him,
and he gives me moksha
and a position higher than the three worlds.

ଅର଼ବୈ ଏନ଼୍ର଼ୁ ଅଟିଯାର୍କଳ୍ ତଙ୍କଳ୍ ଅରୁଳ୍ କୁଳ଼ାମ୍ ପୁକବିଟ୍ଟୁ, ନଲ୍
ଉର଼ବୁ ଚେଯ୍ତୁ, ଏନ଼ୈ ଉଯ୍ଯକ୍କୋଣ୍ଟ ପିରାନ଼୍ ତନ଼୍ ଉଣ୍ମୈପ୍ ପେରୁକ୍କମ୍ ଆମ୍

gave me his wonderful grace,
made me join his devotees as if I were an orphan,
became my relative and saved me from my troubles.

ପୁଳ଼ୁବିନ଼ାଲ୍ ପୋତିନ୍ତିଟୁ କୁରମ୍ପୈଯିଲ୍ ପୋଯ୍ ତନ଼ୈ ଓଳ଼ିବିତ୍ତିଟୁମ୍
ଏଳ଼ିଲ୍କୋଳ୍ ଚୋତି, ଏମ୍ ଈଚନ଼୍, ଏମ୍ପିରାନ଼୍, ଏନ଼୍ନ଼ୁଟୈ ଅପ୍ପନ଼୍' ଏନ଼୍ର଼ୁ ଏନ଼୍ର଼ୁ,
ତୋଳ଼ୁତ କୈଯିନ଼ର୍ ଆକି; ତୂ ମଲର୍କ୍ କଣ୍କଳ୍ ନୀର୍ ମଲ୍କୁ ତୋଣ୍ଟର୍କ୍କୁ,

The lord, my Esan, my chief, my father,
the bright light, destroys the false bodies of his devotees
that are filled with worms and gives them his grace
as their eyes fill with tears and they fold their hands and worship him,
sprinkling pure flowers on his feet.

ଉମ୍ପରାନ଼୍, ଉଲକୁ ଊଟୁ ଅର଼ୁତ୍ତୁ, ଅପ୍ ପୁର଼ତ୍ତନ଼୍ ଆଯ୍ ନିନ଼୍ର଼ ଏମ୍ପିରାନ଼୍,
ଅନ଼୍ପର୍ ଆନ଼ବର୍କ୍କୁ ଅରୁଳି, ମେଯ୍ ଅଟିଯାର୍କଟ୍କୁ ଇନ଼୍ପମ୍ ତଳ଼ୈତ୍ତିଟୁମ୍

the lord of the sky, the god beyond all worlds,
called me, saying, “Come to me!”
and destroyed my karma, my enemy.

ଚିତ୍ତନ଼ୈ, ଚିବଲୋକନ଼ୈ, ତିରୁ ନାମମ୍ ପାଟିତ୍ ତିରିତରୁମ୍
ପତ୍ତର୍କାଳ୍! ଇଙ୍କେ, ବମ୍ମିନ଼୍, ନୀର୍; ଉଙ୍କଳ୍ ପାଚମ୍ ତୀରପ୍ ପଣିମିନ଼ୋ;
ଚିତ୍ତମ୍ ଆର୍ତରୁମ୍ ଚେବଟିକ୍କଣ୍, ନମ୍ ଚେନ଼୍ନ଼ି ମନ଼୍ନ଼ି, ତିକଳ଼ୁମେ.!
