ماتُ اِوَرْ پاکَنْ, مَرَے پَیِنْرَ واچَکَنْ, ما مَلَرْ مےیَ چوتِ,
کوتُ اِلْ پَرَمْ کَرُنَے, اَٹِیارْ کُلاوُمْ نِیتِ کُنَمْ آیَ نَلْکُمْ,
پوتُ اَلَرْ چولَےپْ پےرُنْتُرَے, اےمْ پُنْنِیَنْ, مَنْنِٹَے وَنْتِلِنْتُ,
آتِپْ پِرَمَمْ وےلِپْپَٹُتْتَ اَرُلْ اَرِوارْ اےمْپِرانْ آوارے.

The ancient lord sharing his body with Uma
stays in Thirupperundurai surrounded with blooming groves.
He is the creator and teacher of the Vedas to the sages,
a bright light that stays in the flower hearts of his devotees,
and the giver of faultless, highest compassion
and justice to the devotees who praise him.
He came down from the sky, appeared before them
and gave them his grace.
The devotees who know these things are my masters

مالْ, اَیَنْ, وانَوَرْ کونُمْ, وَنْتُ وَنَنْکَ, اَوَرْکْکُ اَرُلْچےیْتَ اِیچَنْ,
نالَمْ اَتَنِٹَے وَنْتِلِنْتُ, نَلْ نےرِ کاٹْٹِ, نَلَمْ تِکَلُمْ
کولَ مَنِ اَنِ ماٹَمْ نِیٹُ کُلاوُمْ اِٹَوَے مَٹَ نَلْلاٹْکُ,
چِیلَمْ مِکَکْ کَرُنَے اَلِکْکُمْ تِرَمْ اَرِوارْ اےمْپِرانْ آوارے.

When Brahma, Thirumal and Indra the king of the gods
came to the earth and worshiped Shiva,
he came and gave his grace to them and showed them
the good path in Thiruvidaimarudur, filled with tall palaces
where he also showed compassion to a beautiful girl.
The devotees who know this story of the compassionate lord are my masters

اَنِ مُٹِ آتِ اَمَرَرْ کومانْ, آنَنْتَکْ کُوتْتَنْ, اَرُ چَمَیَمْ
پَنِ وَکَے چےیْتُ, پَٹَوُ اَتُ اےرِ, پاروٹُ وِنْنُمْ پَرَوِ اےتْتَ,
پِنِ کےٹَ, نَلْکُمْ پےرُنْتُرَے اےمْ پےرْ اَرُلالَنْ, پےنْپالْ اُکَنْتُ,
مَنِ وَلَے کونْٹُ, وانْ مِینْ وِچِرُمْ وَکَے اَرِوارْ اےمْپِرانْ آوارے.

The god of Thirupperundurai who removes the sickness of all
and grants his grace, the king of the gods in the sky,
is adorned with a beautiful crown and dances joyfully in the hall of Thillai.
When he sailed on the boat of the six religions
while the gods in the sky and the people of the earth praised him,
he threw a fine net and caught fish to marry the fisherman’s daughter he loved.

وےٹُ اُرُ آکِ, مَیےنْتِرَتْتُ مِکُ کُرَے وانَوَرْ وَنْتُ, تَنْنَےتْ
تےٹَ اِرُنْتَ چِوَپےرُمانْ, چِنْتَنَے چےیْتُ, اَٹِیونْکَلْ اُیْیَ,
آٹَلْ اَمَرْنْتَ پَرِما اےرِ, اَےیَنْ, پےرُنْتُرَے آتِ, اَنْ نالْ
اےٹَرْکَلَے اےنْکُمْ آنْٹُکونْٹَ اِیَلْپُ اَرِوارْ اےمْپِرانْ آوارے.

When the gods in the sky came searching for the lord
and asked his help on Mahendra mountain,
the ancient and compassionate god of Thirupperundurai,
disguised as a hunter, rode on a galloping horse and came to save them.

gave his grace and saved his devotees are my masters

وَنْتُ, اِمَےیورْکَلْ وَنَنْکِ اےتْتَ, ماکْ کَرُنَےکْ کَٹَلْ آیْ, اَٹِیارْ
پَنْتَنَے وِنْٹُ اَرَ نَلْکُمْ, اےنْکَلْ پَرَمَنْ, پےرُنْتُرَے آتِ, اَنْ نالْ
اُنْتُ تِرَےکْ کَٹَلَےکْ کَٹَنْتُ, اَنْرُ, اونْکُ مَتِلْ اِلَنْکَے اَتَنِلْ,
پَنْتُ اَنَے مےلْ وِرَلاٹْکُ اَرُلُمْ پَرِچُ اَرِوارْ اےمْپِرانْ آوارے.

When the gods in the sky worship
our highest god of Thirupperundurai,
that ocean of compassion gives his grace
to his devotees and removes their worldly troubles.
In ancient days, he crossed the oceans roaring with waves,
went to Lanka surrounded with tall forts,
and gave his grace to soft-fingered Mandodari.

اےوَلْ چےیَلْ چےیْیُمْ تےوَرْ مُنْنے اےمْپےرُمانْ تانْ, اِیَنْکُ کاٹْٹِلْ
اے اُنْٹَ پَنْرِکْکُ اِرَنْکِ, اِیچَنْ, اےنْتَے, پےرُنْتُرَے آتِ, اَنْرُ
کےوَلَمْ کےلَلْ آیْ, پالْ کوٹُتْتَ کِٹَپْپُ اَرِوارْ اےمْپِرانْ آوارے.

Our Esan, the ancient god of Thirupperundurai,
bending his bow, burned the three forts of the Rakshasas.
He took the form of a hunter and, with hunting dogs,
went to the forest as the gods helped him.
He took the form of a mother pig
and gave milk to her piglets out of compassion.

ناتَمْ اُٹَےیَتُ اورْ نَلْ کَمَلَپْ پوتِنِلْ نَنْنِیَ نَلْ نُتَلارْ,
اوتِ, پَنِنْتُ, اَلَرْ تُووِ, اےتْتَ, اولِ وَلَرْ چوتِ, اےمْ اِیچَنْ; مَنْنُمْ,
پوتُ اَلَرْ چولَے, پےرُنْتُرَے اےمْ پُنْنِیَنْ; مَنْنِٹَے وَنْتُ تونْرِ,
پےتَمْ کےٹُتْتُ, اَرُلْ چےیْ پےرُمَے اَرِیَوَلْلارْ اےمْپِرانْ آوارے.

Our Esan, the virtuous god, the shining light of Thirupperundurai
surrounded with blooming grooves
came to the earth, removed the troubles of all
and gave his grace as Lakshmi and Saraswathi, seated on lovely lotuses,
sprinkled flowers on his beautiful feet, singing and worshiping him.
Devotees who know how the lord gave his grace
and removed the differences between people are my masters

پُو اَلَرْ کونْرَے اَمْ مالَے مارْپَنْ, پورْ اُکِرْ وَنْ پُلِ کونْرَ وِیرَنْ,
ماتُ نَلْلالْ, اُمَے مَنْکَے, پَنْکَنْ, وَنْ پولِلْ چُولْ تےنْ پےرُنْتُرَےکْ کونْ,
اےتُ اِلْ پےرُمْ پُکَلْ اےنْکَلْ اِیچَنْ, اِرُمْ کَٹَلْ وانَرْکُتْ تِییِلْ تونْرُمْ
اووِیَ مَنْکَےیَرْ تولْ پُنَرُمْ اُرُوُ اَرِوارْ اےمْپِرانْ آوارے.

The lord adorned with a blooming kondrai flower garland
and wearing a tiger skin
shares half his body with his lovely wife Uma.
He, the king of Thirupperundurai surrounded by flourishing groves,
is our Esan of faultless, excellent fame.
When the beautiful daughter of the king Vaanan
who had conquered many oceans
appeared, as lovely as a painting, in a sacrificial fire,
our lord married her.

تُو وےلْلَے نِیرُ اَنِ اےمْپےرُمانْ, چوتِ مَیےنْتِرَ ناتَنْ, وَنْتُ
تےوَرْ تولُمْ پَتَمْ وَےتْتَ اِیچَنْ, تےنْنَنْ, پےرُنْتُرَے آلِ, اَنْرُ
کاتَلْ پےرُکَ, کَرُنَے کاٹْٹِ, تَنْ کَلَلْ کاٹْٹِ, کَچِنْتُ اُرُکَ,
کےتَمْ کےٹُتْتُ, اےنْنَے آنْٹَرُلُمْ کِٹَپْپُ اَرِوارْ اےمْپِرانْ آوارے.

The shining Shiva, smeared with pure white ashes,
is the king of Thirupperundurai.
His divine feet are worshiped by Indra, the king of the gods,
while the gods in the sky sprinkle flowers on them.
He showed his love and compassion to me.
When I worshiped his ornamented feet, melting in devotion for him,
he removed all my troubles and made me his.

اَمْ کَنَنْ, اےنْکَلْ اَمَرَرْ پےمْمانْ, اَٹِیارْکْکُ اَمُتَنْ, اَوَنِ وَنْتَ
اےنْکَلْ پِرانْ, اِرُمْ پاچَمْ تِیرَ اِکَ پَرَمْ آیَتُ اورْ اِنْپَمْ اےیْتَ,
چَنْکَمْ کَوَرْنْتُ, وَنْ چاتْتِنوٹُمْ, چَتُرَنْ, پےرُنْتُرَے آلِ, اَنْرُ,
مَنْکَےیَرْ مَلْکُ مَتُرَے چےرْنْتَ وَکَے اَرِوارْ اےمْپِرانْ آوارے.

The clever beautiful-eyed god of Thirupperundurai,
the king of the gods, nectar for his devotees,
came to the earth as a seller of bangles
and ornamented the girls on the streets of Madurai with conch bangles.
